What is Company Criteria in Contact List Building?

RampedUp allows users to limit the search results by fields associated with contact's employer.  Also known as Firmographic data, this would comprise industry, employee size, and revenue. 

  •  Company Name - This is a free form field where the user can enter a company name or upload a list of names via CSV.  By default, the functionality acts as a contains search. However, by selecting the EXACT MATCH box, the results will be limited to the exact company names submitted. 
    • We recommend using a website over a company name as it acts as a better unique identifier. The maximum number of websites the app can accommodate is 2500.
  • Company Web Address - This is a free form field where the user can enter a company website or upload a list of websites via CSV.  The site will break down the Web Address to the root domain.  This is the best field for ABM (Account Based Marketing) to ensure the contacts are limited to companies of your choosing. 
    • We recommend using a website over a company name as it acts as a better unique identifier.  The maximum number of websites the app can accommodate is 5000.
  • Company Industry (New) - Our latest taxonomy consists of over 440 industries and was introduced in 2024.  Company Industry aligns much closer with NAICS 6 codes and is partitioned into Company Sectors. Users can select more than one to limit search results. NOTE: This field is available in SUPPRESSION CRITERIA as well. 
  • Primary Industry (Legacy) - Our first taxonomy consists of over 140 industries but was changed after the source data was changed. Users can select more than one to limit search results. NOTE: This field is available in SUPPRESSION CRITERIA as well. 
  • Company Sector -  This taxonomy consists of 20 sectors comprising all the (new) Company Industries. Selecting a Sector will limit the search results to employees working for companies assigned that sector. Users can select more than one to limit search results.
  • Company Employee Size - The drag bar allows the user to select the minimum and maximum number of employees to limit search results. The total number of employees working at the company.  This number doesn't comprise a roll up of employees working at subsidiaries but it does comprise the employees working in different branches, regions, or offices.  
  • Company Revenue Band - The drag bar allows the user to select the minimum and maximum amount of annual revenue projected to the company to limit search results.
  • Company NAICS - This is the 2022 NAICS 6 Code assigned by a crosswalk with Company Industry.  This field comprises the NAICS 6 Code and its description so either one can be used as a look up in the SEARCH box / Drop Down menu. 
  • Company SIC - This field comprises the SIC 4 Code and its description so either one can be used as a look up in the SEARCH box / Drop Down menu. There is also an upload feature to import SIC Codes via CSV.
